Hi

A friend of mine works with Sibelius.xxxx happens...

Does exporting a file to xml, or midi enables him to open it in Sibelius? Is this transromation reliable?

Thanks!

Music xml or midi file is the preferred way to open a file in either of the programs to the other.
Don't forget to send along a pdf so as to compare and do any minor cleanup necessary.

Let us know how it works out. I exported a Finale 14.5 file to xml and there were so many changes when it was imported in Sibelius the recipient said it would be easier to re-enter all the music. Not convinced, I downloaded a trial version of Sibelius. The main problem was that many instruments automatically transposed. Since I didn't know Sibelius - and was disinclined to learn if there were settings to prevent that, but I didn't pursue it.

It's certainly easier to transpose back than re-enter!
