Is there any way to script note transpositions similar to the Mass Edit command that leave the original notes untouched?

Ideally I'd like to be able to script chord building (select a C note and the script will build a C major chord, etc.) but I'm suspecting there isn't any way to do this with the present limitations.

And, is it only me or is the lack of such abilities in Finalescript the reason there are so few useful scripts made? If all Finalescript gives you are the ability to do major things that take only a few keypresses anyway, why automate?

Not currently, but I will be sure to forward the feature request. You could accomplish this in simple entry by selecting the note and pressing 3 on your qwerty keyboard twice, adding a third above the C and a third above that.

While you're at it, Allen, could you ask that some of the other Mass Edit commands be made available -- I'm specifically thinking of Implode and Explode. These would make possible some very powerful scripts.

And, yes, I know about doing it via the keyboard, but I'm thinking about some scripting that is going to need more flexibility, such as constructing either major or minor chords (something you can't do with two presses of the "3" key) depending on the script and circumstance.

I'm not sure how features are decided upon to add in scripting -- heck, maybe I should be joining the plugin development forum and see what can be done there, since as a programmer I can see lots of things I'd like to be able to do but there is such a limited feature set -- but it would be nice to at least have most of the tool commands implemented.
