Ok, so I understand this may sound stupid, but I'm using Finale NotePad 2012, and this happened:

This is really bugging me and I'd like to know if there is a way to revert this to it's normal state, the way it extends down is rather annoying.

Welcome to the forum.

You should be able to grab each pallette by the double bars at the left end, and move them where you want them.

If you resized your NotePad window, this is the result. NotePad (and Finale, and the other MM programs) don't take kindly to being resized.

You can close unwanted toolbars via the Window menu.
