Hi,

Apple has submitted an update that is supposed to solve problems with programs from Native Instruments, Steinberg and others.

Have those of you who took the bold step to El Capitan have seen an improvement in Finale 2014? Does it still crash?

Not really the most helpful response. The latest Finale Blog post is several days old but Apple has just released 10.11.1 which may provide a fix for Finale (as it has for Native Instruments etc) I'd be very interested to know if anyone has 10.11.1 and tried Finale with it. I certainly won't be updating to 10.11 until Finale works.

Finale 2014d will still crash in 10.11.1. As we stated in our blog, we are working with Apple and are optimistic that the issues will be addressed soon.

If by "for some time" you mean "the first build was released two days ago" :p

Just an update:

The latest version of the 10.11.2 beta seems to have fixed the crashing issues...let's hope it stays that way.

10.11.2 Beta success with Finale!

I can also attest that the crashing has stopped with this newest Beta.

As I posted in another thread:
As was stated on the Finale blog about the subject, beta releases can be changed before the official version appears. It might be wise to wait just a little longer until the final release is issued. MM is keeping close tabs on these developments and if OS 10.11.2 fixes the crashes, they'll let us know right away.

Update: Do NOT upgrade to beta 3 of 10.11.2. Finale has reverted to crashing.
