The import midi function in Finale has never worked that well because there are tons of thing Finale cannot recognize, despites all my efforts with the importing options. I was always told by Customer support that nothing can be done because the midi format implies a huge loss of information, but how comes other softwares such as NoteWorthy or Melody/Harmony assistant, whose licence by the way does not cost 600 $ have a far superior Midi support?
The other point is about saving a file to a previous Finale version. I live in France and I am using the US version because of the poor work of the french distributor to make a decent translation of Finale. Anyway when version 2010 is released in US, the version 2009 is just released in France so as I am frequently working with composers or copyists who use "old" versions of Finale, it is always like going through Hell when we have to share files. It would be so simple if we could just export our MUS files to an older Finale Format like it is possible in programs like Word for instance.

Finale & VST are growing greedier and greedier in RAM comsuption and still we are stucked with a x86 build that won't be able to use more than 2 Gb RAM. A shame when working with huge libraries like VSL or Kontakt 3. | Back to Top | | Forum Information | Currently it is Tuesday, December 19, 2023 8:15 PM (GMT -6) There are a total of 403,820 posts in 58,165 threads.
