I have created a simple solo plus accompaniment piece in Print Music. Piano Acc plus Alto Sax Solo line. I told PrintMusic that I wanted the solo line to be played on the SmartMusic Alto sax. When I load the file in Smartmusic however the solo line is played on what sounds like a very deep low piano.

Any ideas ?

Many thanks

When you choose a solo instrument, you're telling SmartMusic what octave to listen to when it tries to hear the solo instrument. It does not affect what sound you get if you turn on playing the solo line. This will always be a piano sound, because it's intended to just give you a quick idea of the soloist's pitches before turning it off to play with the accompaniment.

Thanks Carla that is very helpful, but it still does not explain why it is a couple of octaves low! I am pretty sure that the pitch emerging is not the same as the pitch i am playing on the Sax.  Is there a way I can adjust that ?

Many thanks

Andy
