Do we pay anything other than the licence fee for using Smart music?  I have seen a reference to a log of music used (or somethign similar) and charges being made to my credit card ??   Does this relate to users like me ?

The only cost is the subscription fee. Depending on what you signed up for, that could be a monthly fee ($10/month) or a single yearly payment. SmartMusic keeps its own record of music that's used so that MakeMusic can pay royalties to the music publishers, but that's never something that customers see.

There are other things you can purchase from MakeMusic, such as a microphone or sheet music. But other than that I can't think what you might be seeing. You could contact MakeMusic if you have more questions.
