Hi! Any ideas on this:

Just installed Fin2014a on my Windows 7 64 bit system.

I run several instances of EWQL Play as standalone outside Finale.
(I have Finales playback wired to the EWQL:s through virtual MIDI-cables which works great per se. I don't want to (can) run my EWQL-setup inside Finale since Finale crashes to often and I don't have the time to wait for sounds to load for minutes)

I use a RME Fireface 800 as audio interface on my system.

Upon launch of Finale 2014 I get a unbarable repetetive error-noice in my system (from the RME) that makes any work impossible.

I did not have any issues like this with 2012.

Some sort of (serious) conflict must be goin on in the system.
If I quit EWQL Play, the noice dissapears and vice versa.

Both Finale and EWQL Play use the same driver ("Fireface ASIO") sending to the same output, and from what I can recall this was problem-free before my installation of 2014.

I looked up and installed the latest driver for the RME.

Most thankful for any input on this since I'm totally stranded and can't work without some serious workarounds.

Interesting enough: after the installation of Fin2014 I now have the same issue with Fin2012!!?! Why does the installation of x14 affext the behaviour of x12?

MANY THANKS in advance!

/Kalle

1) How many PLAY instances do you have running "outside" Finale?
2) What types of crashes are seeing? What's the dialog box say? Details? DLL? exe?
3) I'm pretty sure your interface can handle multiple streams, so are you usually able to have the ASIO driver work OK with Finale + other applications at the same time?
4) The fact that you're seeing this in both 2012 and 2014 indicates it's more of an RME issue than strictly Finale, though I'm sure it's a little of both. But let's isolate the variables first :)

Windows 98, 512MB RAM, Sound Blaster Live! Platinum, Pentium II.
I'm no longer going to be changing my name. It upsets the most fragile people. :)
