Every now and then I come across a reference to GPO 4 in this forum. What is GPO 4? When is it due to be released? Why can't I find any info on it at the Garritan website? In fact, why can't I find any info on it at all, except for the references in this forum?

Dear Ron,

I have made a search on web and didn't find any info about GPO4. Maybe, it is the Aria version. No info on theGarritan web site too.

Yes, GPO4 is supposed to be the version with Aria.

Search the forum listed below for details of GPO4/Aria (and when it was supposed to be released, when it might actually be released, what the hold up is, guessing games about what the new features/capabilities will be, whines and complaints of why it has not been released yet, etc.):

After wading through the sticky about Aria on the Northern Sounds forum, I did see a note from Gary dated April 22nd that its release is "imminent." As to what, exactly "it" is, I am not sure even after reading through that thread. Why is it called "GPO 4" if it is really an Aria update? Will a new set of samples be released? I still don't get the secrecy about it and why there are so few references to it on the web.

Ron,

There's more than just the Aria sticky. There are a dozen or so of threads about Aria/GPO4. Perhaps the most informative are:

Thanks Ernie. Those references answered my questions.

Just to be difficult: what was GPO 3? I missed that one.

Hi Ron,

I got into this game at GPO 3, so I may be wrong about this, but I believe the GPO editions are:

GPO 1 = Kontakt Player, Distributed on multiple CD's
GPO 2 = Kontakt 2 Player, Distributed on multiple CD's
GPO 3 = Kontakt 2 Player, Distributed on one DVD
GPO 4 = Aria Player

I am not sure if there were any sample additions/enhancements between GPO 2 and GPO 3. There appear to be some new samples coming in GPO 4.

Best Regards,
Ernie
