I have made a script: page format 21x28 cm.

In "page format for score" I also want the right system margin set to zero. How can I do that?

Thank you, Sasha.

Unfortunately the values are changed in the wrong place. Your method changes them in: page layout tool->Page margins, which immediately reformats the score.

I want them changed in the Page Format for Score dialog box. (So if the script could open this dialog box, I could probably figure out how to change the values, though it would be a lot easier and faster with a simple command like the one you suggested ...)

The reason why I want them changed there is that I am exporting a lot of Finale files to XML files, and XML seems to take the informations on margins from Page Format for Score dialog box.

Ah yes, I know all about XML. However, why does it need to be changed there? I change mine in the Page Layout tool / Page Margins / Edit Page Margins and that makes the changes to my XML as well.

I can't get Page Format / Score... to open with Finalescript.

I don't have a problem getting the Page Format/Score to open with Finalescript. Perhaps 2010 lets you do that and 2009 doesn't. Not sure.

Anyway, I tried this on my system and it worked:

menu item "document/page format/score..."
tab 7
type "0"
button "ok"
page layout tool
menu item "page layout/redefine pages/all pages*"
expect to hit "ok"
End

Hope that works for you.

James

EDIT: Using the 'tab' button allows you to navigate through the Page Format dialogue box. It's a very handy line of script. :-)

Well, long story, but here it comes: Very often I shorten the LAST – and only the last – system of a score by changing "Page Layout tool/Systems/Edit Margins..." right margin to – say – 50 spaces. For some reason (a bug?) this value is reflected in "Page format for score" dialog box. Now when I export as XML – ALL the systems are 50 spaces shorter than they should be. That's why I want this value changed to zero without reformatting, redefining or updating my score in any other way ...

James – thank you very much. That was exactly what I was after. I only left out the redefining part of the script.

it is all a matter of opening up the final script irrespective of the tools you use. will not it be better if you have an expert guidance prior to the operation.
