Dear all,

I have created a 130 page score of music for several instruments and speech (on a seperate staff). Since the music is synchronized with the speech (speech by JFK btw), the speech text had to be put into the score, but without any rhythm. For that, I created a text block for each measure into which I typed the part of the speech being spoken during that measure. These textblocks are all assigned to the same (speech-)staff, just to different measures.
Now here's the question:
Is there any solution/workaround for aligning all those (300+) text blocks to the same vertical offset from the speech staff? I hope I don't have to do this manually...

Thanks for any help...
Best Whishes,
Manuel

Generally speaking, the Text tool is for text that is attached to a page, for text attached to a measure you should use the Expression tool. How did you enter the text?

All text tool-blocks, I'm afraid. I wasn't aware of your tip, I only used expressions for texts that were in the score multiple times...
Thanks already,
Manuel

If the text blocks are "Measure Attached" and not "Page Attached", you can use Robert Patterson's plug-in "Mass Copy" to set them all to a default position with very little work.

open the Mass Copy window and check "Measure Items - Text". Click the Options button and check "Paste attributes only". Adjust one text block as a source, click on the source measure with the selection tool and hit the "Set Source" button. You're now ready to paste in wherever you want.

Download the demo, give it a try and send Robert some cash. This seems to be one of those situations where the cost of the plug-in is worth the time saved on a single project.
