I'm sure I had a method for doing this but I seem to have forgotten it...
With italian lyrics I often need to put underscores between syllables that are "run together"
Things like Ren - de - te_al som - mo where te_al is sung on one eighth note.
To put spaces between them I use Alt/0160 but the equivalent for the underscore just shoots on to the next syllable or word.
Any help gratefully accepted
All the best
Keith

What is the font you are using?

This is a regularly-answered topic here. In theory, you need an "elision slur", but that is font-dependent (hence Zuill's question). If you are using a font that doesn't have the elision slur character, (which is what I do) then you can use an underlined hard space: CTRL+ space bar, then select the hard space with the mouse and underline it (CTRL-SHIFT-U). Then if you do a CTRL-C to load up the copy/paste facility you can go through your lyrics pasting in the character wherever you need it. I can't be having with all that ALT+numbers malarkey; I gave that up 30 years ago. Still, each to his/her own.
Hope this helps
Simon
