Hello everybody, sorry if this is known issue (I tried to Search it, I did not have any response, but I believe, this had to be discussed here), but anyway help me, please. I have new 17" Powerbook, latest model at the moment, Smart Music microphone, i Mic, but from those only built-in mic works. This could be ok (if not better) if it would not interferre with my external audio boxes (especially when Tuner plays back the sound I produce). I tried all of the settings, but it seems like my Powerbook is not able to use Smart Music microphone. What should I do? Many thanks for any advice. Juraj.

I don't know if there are any known issues. You should send an e-mail to macsupport@smartmusic.com. I don't have a Mac in front of me, but you could turn off SmartMusic and check the System Preferences >> Sound control panel. Make sure the iMic is showing up and is selected as the input. If it is, play with the level, and then experiment with flipping the switch on the iMic itself (I believe it switches between line level and mic level input). If it's working in that, it should work in SM.

Windows XP, all updates

I use smartmusic and a 17" powerbook. I also use the griffin iMic. I have not had any trouble using any mic that is plugged into the iMic. Including the smartmusic mic.

Ocassionally, I have to change the system prefs so audio out recognizes teh iMic, and ocassionally, SmartMusic needs to be reminded that iMic is the audio in.

That's all i can think of.
