I have just bought this programme a week ago and am stumped as to how to solve my problem.
As I entered notes into my score I noticed that the bottom three staves had disppeared. After a lot of fiddling around I discovered I could add extra measures.
I licked on staff tool and was then able to add new measures to fill the page. However I can't add lyrics to the added measures and can now no longer put in guitar chords in the entire score which I was able to do before. When I try the words superimpose themselves over the notes on the staves. I am using a guitar stave so it is fairly simple score. Help me please. Jan Noble

We will probably need to see the file itself, as it is hard to know from the description as to the cause.

Hi Jan,
Your problem is probably an easy one to solve if we could see your file and make suggestions so that you will be able to use Finale with less frustration. Meanwhile, I suggest you follow all the tutorial and quick start videos. The time you invest will be well worth it. There's a very good chance I'm older than you and I figured it all out.

The thing is, we don't know if you are talking about a multi staff score, or a single staff score. that makes all the difference. There are staves and there are systems, so seeing the file might lead us to discover what is there and what can be done to solve the immediate problem.

It sounds as if you are looking at the score in page view and don't know how to look at the next page maybe? If you change to scroll view then things will look very different for you. Do you know how to add measures to a score? These are things that we could tell you instantly if you would post a copy of the score that is giving you grief.

Hi Ron You are right about adding further measures. I figured it out myself. When I first got my page ready to input the notes -t the further down the page I got the staves got further from the bottom which confused me. I hadn't taken the tiime to find out how Finale works. I had an earlier version of Finale 2003 and it had a manual with it. I think it would be much easier to look at a manual as I find the tutorials very disjointed and my short term memory is very bad. However I'm enjoying playing around with it. Regards Jan

There is a manual with Finale 2014. I always set things up to use the version on my hard drive instead of going to the net every time I want to look something up. I find it very easy to use and get around in, though I am aware that others will disagree with me on that.
