Hi!

I know this question is very spesified, and maybe there is no way to do it, but anyway :

I want to put numbers at the repeated measures for the drumplayer. This is very common in bigband style notation, and specially in one-bar repeat staffstyle.
I know very well that there is a plugin called measures/number repeated measures, but it is very simple. It gives only times new roman font, and there is no option meny for the plugin.

The ultimate thing should be numbers every four bar, ex : (4) - (8) - (12) - (16), with parantes, and in jazz og broadway font.. Just selecting all the drumpage, and click a script, and there we go!!

Is there a simple way to do this? Or a script maybe?

I don't think a script can do this.

Easiest way is to assign a metatool to each of these expressions, then you could very quickly put these were needed.

Expressions don't center correctly when it's the first measure in the system, and it's not easy to apply them if you've got 20 repeated bars. I use the "Easy Measure Numbers" plug-in for this to create a region numbered starting at 1. You can use whatever font you want, center them, parenthesize them, specify vertical placement, and could even change the region to display every 4.

This is an interesting possibility. Although one caveat I need to add about your comments, the first measure in any system (staff) should never have a repeat bar. It always needs to be written out. That's a cardinal rule in publishing.

I have seen repeat bars used at the beginning of a staff in big band/show music occasionally. But the standard practice in these situations is 4 measures per line. The reminder numbers are usually placed every 4, sometimes every 2 measures. So they would never occur on the first measure of a system.

Like your example shows, I have metatools set up on (4), (8), (12) & (16). It really only takes a matter of seconds to apply these to an entire page.

If you're only doing every 4, then applying by hand with metatools does seem reasonable. If you show the number every bar, though, it becomes tedious.

I suspect it may be possible to do the above with Finalescript: run the Easy Measure Numbers plug-in, then edit the newly-created region. If it could be made to work, it would be less error-prone than the manual method.
