Finale 2014, and I'm setting up my score template. The mf tool is fine for assigning the metatools I want but the articulation tool guy won't allow me to do so like I did with mf guy. What gives?

Are you using 2014 or 2014.5? Are you saying Articulation metatools can't be assigned? How about the default metatools? Are they working?

2014.5. The assigned ones are working. I prefer my own codes. They won't assign like the mf ones did. Thanks!

Can you assign articulation metatools in any other document?

I'm trying to assign them in my score. Are you saying to open another document and try as it may be a problem with my score?

I opened a fresh score, from their template and same issue. I click on the note, click on articulation tool, find the one I want, hold down shift and press 1 and nothing. It's still the same metatool listed. The mf tool changed when I did that and they're all lined up the way I want them.

You hold down Shift and a key. Then the selection box opens. Then you choose the articulation. That is the correct order. If the metatool is already assigned, the one to which it is assigned is highlighted. Select any other articulation to change to the key you selected.

You're right--that does work from the Expression tool but not the Articulation tool. Not as advertised, though.
