Hi, I am a composer and arranger of classical and fingerstyle guitar music from UK. I would like to hear from others like myself who use Finale for guitar notation as I have an idea to develop a guitarists plug-in to make notating/transposing from other instruments and setting to tablature more efficient. Please let me know if such a plug-in already exists and leave your e-mail so that I may send you a short survey. Thank you..

Didn't you post this same thing back on the 15th? There were a few responses.

Cheers.

Gary

Wouldn't it be nice if guitarists would learn how to read music?

Haha, Reed!
I've always thought the same thing. Those ultra-sophisticated "progressive music" people can't even read music. That has turned people's impression of the guitar from that of a respectable instrument to something like that of the kazoo.

what the hell is wrong with you people.
if you play guitar and know how to read music on guitar then you know that the current system of notation has its limitations, so does Tab. don't put down either system or the musicians that use them. they both have their place. remember that Lute was the fist instrument to use TAB so feel free to pick on them too...pretty soon you guys are going to insult Baroque composers and composition students for using
figured bass or jazz musicians who have trouble reading block chords but would rather read chord symbols.

I wouldn't recommend Finale for writing tabliture under time restraints. I agree the current plug in has its share of problems. the biggest problem being that Coda still hasn't figured out that Guitar and Bass are a transposing instrument, hence changing the plug in. they could figure how to transpose instruments of the orchestra though. this has been a problem since I first bought Finale 98. sure wish they would fix that and make it a little smarter.
