Hello all,
 
I have never been able to get a high enough level on my mic (supplied by SmartMusic) Has anyone got any tips? I have Windows XP home edition.

George,

Have you moved to 2011 yet? We tried to do some "behind the scenes" microphone work to boost your signal automatically if we can't quite hear it. Otherwise, in Windows XP, most sound cards have their own control panel software ("Realtek" or "Sigmatel" instead of "Sound and Audio"). You're looking for an "Advanced Settings" button to try turning on the Mic Boost ("DB gain" or "Gain" might show as well).

If you'd like to set up a support case at smartmusic.custhelp.com/app/ask I can look a little more closely at this computer and offer some additional specific advice.
