Hi guys/gals,
Its my first post...whoo hoo. I was just
working on a song for my introduction to
2002. I was dissappointed to find that
sometimes I put an articulation, and
sometimes even a staff expression on a
rest, the handle gets misplaced, making
it hard to place the mark correctly. I do
ALOT of orchestral scores, so this is very
painful when putting a mark into 18
staves.
This of course was also the case with
98d. Does anyone know if this has been
commented on by Finale, and if they have
plans to fix it? I was so dissappointed to
find that Finale would not fix such a
blatant problem. There are things in
2002 I could do without, if they would just
fix the basics.
Its such a basic thing, putting a fermata
on a rest--why does the handle have a
cow every time????
Thanks for listening,
kj (Karlan)

Karlan,
To put a fermata on a half rest (or a whole rest), try this:
In the Articulation dialog box, select the fermata, click the button "Duplicate", and edit the duplicate by changing the horizontal handle position to 3 points.
Use the standard fermata on notes, and the duplicate fermata on rests.
