Hi

I was wondering if anyone else has experienced a problem when exporting a section/page of Graphics from Finale 2010. I've encountered 3 problems (never before v.2010!!):
1. I make a selection, choose export and the file saved is 50% white space and only 1/2 of the original selection is displayed to the right side of the page.
2. It saves the selection but leaves the page totally blank.
3. In selected cases (NOT ALL) when I try to import the graphic file into openOffice (3.2) it says file is unreadable; however, some other files are readable?

Any suggestions??

Hi Waldo! Sorry to hear that you are having issues with the Graphics Tool. Are you making a graphic while in Page or Scroll View?

Sometimes I can export the entire page (not always) and then I have to crop the selection I want in Photoshop.
it seems strange that Finale has never done this before though?

What graphics format are you saving as? Or does it happen in all formats - JPEG, TIFF, PNG, EPS?

Waldo, this is one of the parts of Finale that MakeMusic rewrote for 2010 - specifically to provide support for PNG and JPEG.

It looks like they may have broken the old, rock-solid code that existed before, so I recommend you write this up and submit it as a bug report ASAP so that the programmers can get onto it while it is reasonably fresh in their memory ...

Good point - I can't test this one (Finale 2005b ...).

I just tried exporting eps, jpeg, png and tiff with WinFin2010 on Vista and it worked fine. They all imported into Word with no problem too. Possibly an XP thing?? I don't have a clue. Sorry....

I've been exporting a fair number of graphic images from Finale2010 lately, and, never a hitch. I see no indication that this function is broken.

After MANY attempts I think I've found the "bug" in my fingers!

In Scroll View one is able to make a selection on any one of 3 visible pages. (more or less depending on screen size)
HOWEVER, in the PAGE BOX (measure box) at the bottom of the screen one must specify on which page the selection lies!
If I make a graphic selection on page 2 but the PAGE BOX says 1 or 3, then Finale will export only a portion of the selection - hence getting a 1/2 page blank!
If the selection is on page 1 and the Page Box says 1, then it seems to be OK.

Thanks again!
My apologies for those of you who tried to find a solution on my behalf!!

If I were you, I'd download Fingers 2010a just as soon as it's released! lol
