Having scanned a piece of music into Finale (which deserves its own posting), the time signature was read in as 8/4 vice 2/4. When attempting to change it to 2/4 using the Finale Time Signature tool, I am unable to get the change to "take." I have tried this on the entire score, a single measure, inserting measures at the beginning and then changing... nothing seems to work. I have gone to the manual and the web site and no joy.

The importer for the scanned file probably sets all the staves to use independent time signatures. Turn independent time sigs off in the Staff Attributes dialog.
