I need an MP3 of my file. I have Human Playback set to "None". I go to File < Export to Audio File. No option for an MP3 if given. I've made hundreds of MP3 files in the past. I'm missing the boat this time. Please help! Thanks.

Tim

With some playback devices you don't get the option to export as mp3, but you can use iTunes to convert the audio file to mp3.

Thank you. Actually, because of your hint about playback devices, I changed the playback to "Play Finale through MIDI" and the MP3 option to export finally showed up. Thank you for the hint. I appreciate your help.

If playback is set to use Garritan sounds, Finale will only be able to produce WAV files.

So, to confirm, as of Finale 2014, it still isn't possible to export mp3 audio directly unless MIDI instruments are selected? Seems pretty inconvenient to have to open iTunes to convert a WAV or AIFF file each time. And, it is inconsistent and weird not to have the same export options each time within the program, IMO.

It may be inconvenient, but it is so. In order to directly export to MP3, Finale must be set to Play through MIDI. If you export from VST units as an AIFF, you can use Audacity to normalize (if necessary) and export as MP3, or iTunes, or your program of choice.
