Is it possible to use automatic sequential numbers in an expression?

I have a score with a long section of repeated notes and would like to add a number below each measure to help the musicians follow along.
However, I can't use the already-created sequential numbering in Expressions since those by default are set to show in specific staff sets, rather than individually and independently by staff.

For example, the celli and basses have the first 20 measures of a repeated pattern which I would like numbered, but the violas only come in at the 5th measure with their repeated pattern. I would need an expression that I can assign "per staff".

Am I stuck creating a bunch of individual numbers?

Finale (started with ver. 3.0) using 2012 (2014 has been shelved for its lack of support for older Garritan libraries) under Windows 8.1
basically ALL Garritan libraries, plus XSample Chamber Ensemble.

Investigate the Rehearsal Marks category. It's there in Fin25. I'm not so sure about previous versions.

Introduced in 2010. You can duplicate the category and use a new Score List for every staff.

Jari has a plugin for this but not yet for v25, so you'll have to wait.

The rehearsal marks category seems to not have the possibility of changing score lists.
it can be done for the whole category, but not per individual staff.

Otherwise, I'd have to create a whole new staff expression category for each time I want to use this feature?

The numbers created by the repeated measure plug-in exist in one of the expression categories. Although they cannot be newly assigned automatically, they should be assignable manually.

Actually, I have created a new category that has the numbers preset to what I want. I then load the library with that category before running the plugin. I choose that category as part of running the plugin. If I want to customize the look after running the plugin, once I do that, all the numbers are modified automatically.

I am waiting to update to v25 until more of the plugins have been updated.

So basically, if I continue with Finale 25 I have to wait for plugins to be updated before I can do what I need.

JW Pattern is great. Like Zuill, I use a dedicated expression category. To get the numbers exactly centered between the barlines, use "Center over/under music" with an additional horizontal offset computed from Document Options/Notes and Rests of

(Spacing After Music - Spacing Before Music) / 2

In the default case this will be a negative number (all this is necessary because "center between barlines" doesn't work for the first measure of a system).

+1 for JW Pattern. A must for drums, percussion parts (the plug-in can be applied to parts only). And it can do many more things. Like numbering sequences 1, 2, 3 ... every x measures. Useful when you divide, say, a 7/4 measure into 4 + 3 with a dotted bar line in the middle (in fact 2 measures).
P.S. : as the file format is now common to 2014.5 and v.25, you can work on the same file in either versions, and for instance, use 2014.5 for JW plug-in work until the 64 bit version gets released.
