Hello everybody!

I've been a Finale power user since… puh… 2006, I guess? And it's my first time in this forum – so, "Hello", here I am!

I recently came across a score with a neat chord symbols font that I really liked in terms of space requirements vs. readability.

Now, my PDF document of this score tells me the font is called SwissChords. But I haven't found any information on it. It certainly bears a resemblance to Helvetica/Arial/Zurich fonts…

So, does anybody know where I can buy this font? Any help is very much appreciated.

I remember I read about a designer from Switzerland who constructed fonts for traffic signals, they were legible from a far distance. They look like that, but narrow style. You might investigate, but I think it is a font from '70 or even earlier.

I'm sure you'll have already tried a Google search, which seems to list this post as the only reference to "SwissChords" on the internet.

As you say, it does look like a 'Swiss' font, such as Helvetica, Univers, etc, so I'd be surprised if you couldn't find a particular weight/style of one of those faces that didn't fit the bill.

It's a custom made font by Dakota Music used in house only, based on Helvetica, hence the name.
