Hello!

I'm using Finale 2014.5.6359 for Windows, running Windows 7.

Does anyone know of a way to select a block of lyrics and change their current specification? Example: Selecting all the lyrics of Section 1 and changing them (or moving them) to CHORUS 1 without having to go in and RE-ENTER them?

Hoping my question makes sense.

Thanks, all.

Chuck

Hi Chuck

Select the Lyrics tool
From the Lyrics menu, select "Lyrics Window"

From the Lyric drop down, select the verse/chorus you require to change.
Select the block of text
<ctrl>C (or Edit->Copy)
From the Lyrics drop down, select the 'destination' verse/chorus
Place the cursor in the main window, <ctrl>V (or edit->paste)

You my need to use the tools (click assign, adjust syllable etc) to get the note assignments correct

Once done, you can go back to the 'source' verse/chorus and change/delete as necessary.

Cheers...

Daz. :o)

What are you trying to achieve by moving lyrics from "Section 1" to "Chorus 1"? There's no real distinction between them. The only necessity for putting lyrics in particular groups is if you need verse numbering. (and if things are a real mess, it might be simpler just to add text numbers at the start.)
