It would be a hit and miss operation to just copy or move to the new location. You would never know if you got them all. After reinstalling, you could rename the original top level directory and see if Finale works. If everything works OK in the new location, then delete the old directories one at a time. Maybe tech support could give a list of directories/files that would need to be relocated, but I would not hold my breath.

I always uninstall from the OS hard drive and install on an external, or secondary, drive. It even works for SD cards if your friend is going to install on, say, a Surface. Just remember that certain files MUST be located on the OS drive in Finale 2012 and higher.
