"cue notes could not be created. It is possible that you have reached Finale's Maximum amount of measures with notes"

Seriously? It's not even a big document. Screenshots attached.

That reminds me of the scene in "Amadeus" where the Emperor says, "It's quality work. But there are simply too many notes, that's all. Cut a few and it will be perfect."

This should be named the Emperor Bug.

This has been reported before and I can't recall how long ago or the result. Try posting this on the new help forum and see if you get an answer there.

FWIW, this file (see screenshot) would seem to be larger and doesn't appear to have this problem as far as I'm aware.

You might consider copying the file into a freshly made template. I realize you might be at a point where this is not practical, but I thought it worth mentioning.

When you started this file, what was the history of the template you used? Was it completely clean, or did you use a previous file, clear out the entries and use that? It appears that the File Maintenance feature has not deleted the excess, unused frame information, as it should.

Why not post this to the new "Help Center" and let the experts take a look? I guess the only way you could provide the file is by Dropbox or a similar service.

Thanks for your replies. Yes I checked the stats on much larger files where I don't get that warning. I start my files from scratch and copy entries from older files into the new files, only copying necessary articulations etc, yet I'm constantly having buggy behavior on different computers, different OS, different files.

You might want to include you machine info, in this case especially the amount of RAM you have, which OS version, which machine(s), etc. Do you have a lot of other programs running?
