OK - so I'm working on an orchestration, and I "extracted" the viola part to see what it looks like (with it's multimeasure rests sorted), it looks fine.

When I then delete the (resultant) viola part (as I have further work to do), I now play BACK from my full score and only the viola part plays - odd!

I didn't go into mixer or instrument list and select solo, by the way.

Any ideas??

David

If you go to Studio View, look to the left to make sure none of the staves have been muted.

@Meg - thanks, but I tried that all seems "normal". I'm so frustrated I could chew my fingers off ...

So I decided to attach the file - in case that helps (this is a work in progress).

The score plays back all the parts for me, but because you must have different sounds than GIfF, Finale reloads the default sounds.

So, maybe you need to make sure somehow the rest of the sounds didn't get dumped from their slots.

I had a similar issue so I created another blank duplicate score; place each in scroll view; highlighted each of the parts in the old score and dragged all to the new score. For some reason dragging as opposed to copying seems to work better for me.
