I have an older HP laser printer which has worked well for years - very sharp images for my Finale scores, but it's time for a new one. I use an iMac, Finale 2012. Any suggestions?

Do you need oversized scores, or just letter size?

We have two Kyocera 6970DN printers, very good print quality and reliable.

I have a Kyocera Taskalfa 2551on lease with a service contract. It prints and scans colour up to A3 size (European version). Service contract includes all consumables except paper.

Mike, good question. Actually, I only need to print 8.5 X 11 letter size. I have Subito Music do all my printing of larger scores.

Do you need to scan? - copy? - print in colours?

If you buy a second-hand (older) laser printer, make sure that the printer has software, that is compatible with the Mac OS X version on your iMac.

If you buy a new laser printer, then you should not worry about getting “very sharp images” for your Finale scores.
Any new printer will give you high resolution prints.

I use a $69 Brother Laser network printer (2070N) for my Finale 8.5 X 11 pages. Very crisp printing AND I can hit the printer wirelessly from my other laptop downstairs. I write one show a year of 400+ measures and print the parts (usually one page) and put them in small 3-ring binders. I have a large-format Canon photo inkjet that is nearly 10 years old that I use for printing 11 X 17 parts and folding.

I don't use OEM toner or drums anymore; you can usually save big on Amazon or other sites and the quality (to me) is the same.

YMMV

I'm happy with the Canon multifunction I bought 5 or 6 years ago. I think any major brand mid-line laser will be fine for general score printing.

I just bought a refurbished HP LaserJet 4050 to replace my ancient LaserJet 4 that was a tank for many years. They don't make printers as reliable as this any more, I don't think.
