Hello all, (I'm new so please forgive me if I don't follow proper protocol)

I am having trouble with notes sustaining in certain parts after they should be . . .

For instance, in a trumpet part (or strings) I have a chord of whole notes in measure one and a whole rest in measure two. However the chord sustains all the way through measure two (and til the end of the piece if it is the last chord I have written). This doesn't happen in every measure as far as I can tell. For instance, whole note chord, quarter rest, three quarter note chords = no problem.

This happens both when I'm playing through my MIDI keyboard (Roland fp3(?)) and when I just play with the soundcard.

I have tried adjusting the MIDI channels and also turning human playback off (and playing with the options in both these places), but it hasn't helped anything.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I'm using Win 98.

Try checking "match" under midi menu/midi setup. I had notes that stuck when I upgraded to 2004 and this was the problem.

I would suggest upgrading from Win 98 if you can. Win XP is great!
