I've just started having this particular problem in speedy entry and wondering if someone knows how to solve the problem. The problem: changing the existing note value to another value, For instance: changing a half note to a quarter note. I use to be able to click on the note and then "hit" 5 on my key board, but now when I do that, it inserts a quarter rest. Anyone else having that problem and how did you solve it?

I'm using macos sierra 10.12.2, Finale 2014.5 on my imac.

I suppose you mean computer keyboard, not MIDI keyboard, right?

Take a look in the Speedy menu.

Is the menu item “Use MIDI Device for Input” selected or de-selected?

Is the menu item “Insert Notes Or Rests” selected or de-selected?
