How does one go about selecting the notation set instruments in Finale's new file wizard?

I've copied the txt file from online and gpo shows as an option along with the Finale GPO set- I only see number 1-8 / no #9. Notation.

Please help a new GPO user.

I don't know what you mean by the "txt" file, but the wizard never offered "No. 9 Notation." That is selected by default.

as far as I know, the wizard ONLY offers instruments from the 9.Notation directory.
that's the whole idea behind HAVING that .TXT file.

Thank you both for your reply.  It is cleared up in my mind which must mean that something I once understood is now suddenly foggy- I'll contact my shrink asap.

well, normally, you start with the Launch Window.
then that takes you to the Set-up Wizard's first page where you choose a document style.
then you select your instruments.
from that pull-down, if you have full version GPO, you should have something like: "Smart music softsynth", "Garritan instruments for Finale", "GPO Finale edition 2.0", and finally "GPO Full 2.0".
The names of the final two may be a little different - I changed mine to make them shorter and clearer.

I have never seen the 1 through 8 folders when using the Wizard. It only shows me the groups of instruments:
GPO Woodwinds, GPO Brass, GPO Single Strings, GPO Section Strings, GPO Keyboards, GPO Percussion, GPO Harp

So in other words, from the Wizard, you should not even be seeing the non-notation folders.
You DO have access to them if you go directly into the Kontact player once the score is set up.
Of course, the KeySwitches in the non-notation folders are not in the right places for HPto recognize them, so they're not of much use to Finale users.
