The charming Mike Rosen & the ever-helpful Peter Thomsen are moderators and contributors on www.finaleforum.com/ so perhaps there is hope for something both useful and congenial independent of MM. I hope you're right. I signed up yesterday. Any other suggestions? Arthur J. Michaels

No signature, so one has to enter user info every time. No way to delete a post. No way to attach an actual file. I'm leery of links and the potential for issues. Hard on the eyes.
Zuill Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems like it doesn't remember what one has already read. That's probably OK for the drive-by user with a single question, who can "subscribe" to the responses by email, but is a huge drawback for those visiting regularly.
Also, is such subscription automatic? I posted a few things there at the beginning and then got bombarded with email until I figured out how to turn off the subscriptions (one at a time, by the way). I have avoided it ever since. Finale 2014.5, 2011b, 2005, TGTools Windows 7, MIDI input Finale Transposition Chart | Back to Top

Probably wouldn't work, but you never know?
I sent him one already... Anyone else feel up to defending our little corner of the web? K M Frye

If they do close it, I think it will be a great loss, and one that may never be regained, despite the good intentions of other forums. I have had a look at the new Help Centre, but I am not very impressed with the layout/readability of it, and it seems to me that its members don't visit often, and questions are not getting the same volume of replies as we have grown accustomed to on this forum here. A question posted 4 days ago on the Help Centre is still unanswered by anyone. That doesn't instil much confidence. I think we should keep this forum and stop trying to re-invent the wheel!
This forum has been so helpful to me over the years, especially when I have a deadline. An answer (or ten) is always forthcoming from somewhere in the world and usually within 5 minutes. This is my first port of call because a reply to a support ticket, whilst generally useful & appreciated, might take a whole day or overnight to come through.
Also, this forum (and its established community) is one of the main reasons why I remain loyal to Finale as my notation product of choice. This forum makes it easier for me to use the complex Finale product. I consider it to be one of the selling points of Finale, one of its most useful features. So, I really hope Make Music keeps this forum alive.
Cheers, Hector Pascal. | Back to Top
