And you can't set it down on someone else's desk.

But on the good side, you can put as much beverage in it as you want. The Sibelius bottle will only let you put in a predetermined amount.

There is a demo version; but the bottle is solid plastic, so one cannot put fluid in or empty it out.

You also have to drink from it while it remains on your desk because "pick up" doesn't work. The work around is to have a second water bottle of only 1/4 of volume of the original.

I heard recently that MakeMusic is still working on the supplier details for the Limited Edition Finale® Road Flares and Finale® Condoms.

I actually suggested to MakeMusic that they offer different types of Mugs before the release of Finale 2009 (or maybe it was 2010) -- even sent them a couple of mock-ups I made on one of those "design your own mug/calender/etc" sites.

Anyway, my design/suggestion had Finale keystroke tables printed on the mug with the idea that a user could be enjoying their favorite beverage while using the program and have a list of keystrokes literally under their nose. Since a mug only has enough space for one or two tables people would have to buy multiple mugs if they wanted all of Finale's keystroke tables, but if they only needed the Simple Entry keystrokes or Expression keystrokes they could just get that mug.

If MakeMusic setup a free account with a company like Zazzle.com they could even let the user/buyer select what type of mug they wanted (beer/coffee/etc.) and MM wouldn't have to stock, process orders or ship them as this is handle by the mug-making company.

Oh well.

I've seen German beer mugs which could easily have ALL of Finale's keystroke tables on them!

... and (generally) the software package we use to do it, warts and all... (and EVERY software package has warts.) Now, I've heard about "seeing fireworks", but road flares!?!? Must be a low-budget thrill like NotePad. To get the full fireworks, you need to upgrade to at least Allegro!

Allegro has nearly the same road flares as Finale, but you have to settle for the same ones for 4-5 years.

woodwind specialist and doubler - Finale 2009b using Speedy Entry - no capslock, GPO 2nd ed. Full version, Garritan Jazz & Big Band, Garritan Concert and Marching Band, Windows Vista 32-bit SP1, 4GB RAM, Soundblaster Audigy II zs

If the composer says in effect to the performer: "I do not care whether you perform my music or not," we cannot argue the matter. But if he indicates: "I want you to perform and respond to this music," then his fundamental duty is to write his music so that it is accessible to interpretation. When the performer cannot approach the composer's meaning because of capriciously obscure notation, he may in effect say to the composer: "Why should I bother to puzzle out your music?" - Gardner Read

While Notepad gives you a book of matches.
It used to be paper matches, but now that you pay for Notepad, they're wooden matches.

Finale Reader gives you a picture of a campfire... in black and white.

You are all talking so small time!!!!! What MM needs to do is contract with either Laphroaich or Lagavulin for a special Finale run of their 10 - 16 year product line. They should also label and send a liter to each Finale user when the upgrades are ordered.

No thanks, we'll keep all the Laphroaig (sic) and Lagavulin this side of the pond, if you don't mind! Let MM stick a badge on Wild Turkey - if they can catch one! lol
