Hello scriptors:

I apologize if someone recently addressed this, but I've been poking around here on the Finale script side only recently.
I would like to convert some 140 Finale files originally used for a text book into PDFs for use in an e reader.
Is there an automated way to script all of the old files (F2007) in question so that I can convert them to F2012, then to PDF? Or do I even need to update them to 2012? I really just need the PDFs.
thanks for indulging my newbie-ness in this area.

Finalescript has two scripts: Batch printing, and Convert folder to current format.

For the first, you'll need a PDF print queue -- may I recommend CUPS-PDF, which is free.

I uploaded an Applescript Service which batch prints Finale files in the background, which would also work if you have a PDF print queue.

Actually you can use the built-in "Save to PDF..." in Finale 2012 along with a script.  No need to save to 2012 format.

process folder

menu item "Save as PDF..."

Finalescript will prompt you for the folder to use.
 
Be advised it is still a bit buggy, and may not always work.  It should ask you for a filename for each file in the folder you want to save.
