When attempting to create a multiple-measure ending across line breaks, I have trouble connecting the first measure and the last measure of the ending. This is probably a basic question, but I can't seem to do it. Can you help?

Switch to Repeat Tool (and Page View), if you are not there already.
The first ending has two repeats:
one repeat in the first measure of the ending (Ending Repeat Bar)
one repeat in the last measure of the ending (Backward Repeat Bar)
The Ending Repeat Bar is in the first system.
The Backward Repeat bar is in the second system.
The Ending Repeat Bar has an open, horizontal line. You want to extend that line to the end of the system.
Click the measure with the Ending Repeat Bar, and handles will appear.
There are two handles at the end of the horizontal line. Click the leftmost handle, and hold down RightArrow until the line reaches the end of the system.
The Backward Repeat Bar has an open, horizontal line. You want to extend that line back to the beginning of the system.
Click the measure with the Ending Repeat Bar, and handles will appear.
There is a handle at the end of the horizontal line. Click the handle, and hold down LeftArrow until the line reaches the beginning of the system.
