In any Mac version of Finale, A long note won't sustain after a unison with other notes. The problem exists with both QuickTime and Finale's internal instruments (external MIDI instruments seem to work properly)

Explanation of problem: Let's pretend I have two voices, with the same internal instrument. Both of them start on middle C. One of them sustains for a whole note. But the other moves up to D on the second half note. I lose the C, not hearing the dissonance that should result. Only the D plays.

Possible technical reason: Clearly the "note off" message is being received on behalf of BOTH notes, as if the Finale can't play back the same note twice at a time in the same instrument (patch) while using internal instruments.

Windows workaround: Incidentally, according to other posts, this is also a Windows problem that has apparently been solved by changing some check box in the MIDI set up dialog or by changing some OutMatch1 setting in one of finale's midi "ini" type files.

Mac workaround: This is such a nuisance, and I am convinced there is a workaround. WHAT IS IT?
I have been plagued by this issue for years now. I need help!!!!!!!!!!!!

In MIDI - MIDI setup, uncheck "Match On/Off"
