I can see that all the scripts in the finalescript folder have been changed to an xml format. So, I am unable to just simply copy the script txt files across from my old 2011 folder to the 2014 folder. Is there any way to simply import them? Or do I have to go through the trouble of recreating them one by one in Finale 2014?

IIRC, you can simply drop the old format (text) files into the new Finalescript folder.  They will be converted to the new XML once you use the script.  I think this has been the case ever since MM changed over to XML for Finalescript files, F2012 maybe.
