File was playing correctly through audio units, then I put it on Studio View and played around with volume buttons. It played fine. Then I exported the audio file and that was fine. I go back to the Finale file and the sounds just disappeared. I reassigned playback sounds, both automatically and manually and still the same. All the banks are set up correctly and nothing is muted. The file plays correctly through midi. What could be the issue?

Have you tried a reboot? Or, try posting the file here so we can examine to see what might be up. If it plays for us, something is up in your system.

When the file opened, it gave a pop-up saying no sounds were assigned. This often happens when the person who saved the file has sounds which I don't have. So, are you using the GIfF sounds, or GPO4 sounds, or something else?

When I chose the option to assign sounds, it appropriately assigned the GIfF sounds, and all played properly.

I'm using the default Garritan sounds in Aria Player.

Then I'm at a loss. When I click the item Reassign Playback Sounds, it automatically picks the sounds according to the Sound Map Priorities settings. What is at the top of the list?

Are you talking about Garritan Instruments for Finale? Hmmm. Isn't this the default? It could be the separate Garritan sounds that I bought separately a couple years ago and had installed on my older laptop, and when I moved to the current macbook pro, I copied only Finale 2011 without Garritan sounds. I'm going to install Garritan sounds on this new one and see if this would solve the problem.

Garritan Instruments for Finale are the default sounds. It should work as is. Did you reboot?

I opened the file, Reassigned Playback Sounds, and resaved the file. Does this play?

I did reboot and all that, the same result. I even installed Personal Orchestra Version 3.0 and used it to setup the instruments, but no sound still. I took a video of the screen. Check here:

So something is missing. Did you try the revised file I posted?

I suppose a call to support might be in order. Since I use Windows, I can't be of much help.
