Hello - if there is currently a way to do this, I'd love to know about it. I have several scripts which convert fonts from score size to parts size. Since I get scores from a lot of different sources, I have to cover my bases by listing all the size options in a long series of steps.

For instance, I get scores which use the Rehearsal font for rehearsal letters. These might be 24 points, or 36 points, or 18 points in the original score. I want them to be 14 points in the parts.

It would be great to have a command that basically says

"search for any text in the Rehearsal font which is not 14 points plain and replace it with Rehearsal font 14 plain"

The current method is to simply list all of the "is not 14 point" options:


search "" [Rehearsal] 36 plain replace "" [Rehearsal] 14 plain
search "" [Rehearsal] 35 plain replace "" [Rehearsal] 14 plain
search "" [Rehearsal] 34 plain replace "" [Rehearsal] 14 plain
search "" [Rehearsal] 33 plain replace "" [Rehearsal] 14 plain
search "" [Rehearsal] 32 plain replace "" [Rehearsal] 14 plain
search "" [Rehearsal] 31 plain replace "" [Rehearsal] 14 plain

Thanks, Jeff. This looks like it indeed will work. Does removing the size and style mean that it will replace bold or italics versions with the plain? If so, it works perfectly.

I think so. but you could also do:

search "" [Rehearsal] bold, italic replace "" [Rehearsal] 14 plain
