I just upgraded my laptop to Windows 10 yesterday, and everything seems to mostly be working correctly. However, I just went to work on a chart and when I use the expression tool and click on a measure, it automatically adds a forte marking, and doesn't give me the dialogue window to select an expression marking. I've tried this on other files and new, blank files, and it's doing it the same on all of them. I tried restarting Finale and I was able to select my first expression marking, but after that it reverted to instantly adding a forte to the score. Currently I'm using the trackpad. I've got a wireless mouse at home I can try later tonight, but this is a little disconcerting. Is it a Finale error, or maybe a driver error with my trackpad? I've got an HP Pavilion DV7 laptop with a Synaptic touchpad.

My Finale 2014d and Win 10 does not do that. It works correctly. I have completed several charts with no problem.
You need to look elsewhere for the issue.

Your 4 key is stuck.

woodwind specialist and doubler - Finale 2014d using Speedy Entry - no capslock, GPO 4 Full, Garritan Jazz & Big Band 3, Garritan Concert and Marching Band 2, Windows 8 64-bit, 12GB RAM

If the composer says in effect to the performer: "I do not care whether you perform my music or not," we cannot argue the matter. But if he indicates: "I want you to perform and respond to this music," then his fundamental duty is to write his music so that it is accessible to interpretation. When the performer cannot approach the composer's meaning because of capriciously obscure notation, he may in effect say to the composer: "Why should I bother to puzzle out your music?" - Gardner Read

It's probably the "Virtual Stuck Key Syndrome". Shut the computer down, restart and you should be good to go.
