I have a piece that starts with straight 8ths, then a section with swing, then back to straight. I feel like I've tried everything but can't get the 3rd section to have the sound of staight eighths. I have Finale 2011. Thanks for any help!

Welcome to the forum!

What usually works, is adding two expressions with playback effect Swing, one expression where the swing playback should begin (setting the swing to e. g. 100), and another expression where the swing playback should stop (setting the swing to zero).
Have you tried that?

You already have the Swing expression, which turns it on. You need to create a new expression, to turn it off. Call it Straight Eighths, or whatever. In the Playback tab, select the Effect > Swing, and set the amount to zero.

Also, if you have more than one staff, only the top staff will be affected without the score list including all the staves checked. Do you have a file we can examine to see if this is the case?
