I cut and copied a section of my piece to another part of it. This cut and copy section included a rit. and an a tempo. In the now blank measures where the original music was, I created new music. However, during the 2 measures where the original music was that included the tempo alterations, the rit. and a tempo is still there hidden somewhere and affects the playback of the new music, which I don't want. How do I fix this?

Select the 2 measure stacks that are affected by the rogue expressions and set Edit > Clear Selected Items as shown below. If that doesn't work, set Clear Selected Items to clear all MIDI data. Maybe a long shot, but these are where I'd start.

If they are hidden, maybe there is MIDI data there causing the tempo changes. May we examine the file?

If you have used the "Apply Human Playback" plug-in, that will have altered the MIDI data, which will stick even when the rit. and a tempo are cleared. This can be solved per N. Grossingink.

Thank you all. While I was waiting for your replies, I just cut (thus deleted) the 2 measures, then inserted a 2 measure stack, then pasted the notes into the stack. Although it was too late for me to try your suggestions, they look like they would work. What I did did work. Thanks again.
