I have been having trouble with violin, cello and sax parts that sound fine when I input them, but are so hard to hear (sometimes barely audible) that I must use the mixer to turn everything else down to a whisper so I can hear them. I began a thread earlier today on this subject, but somehow put it under Finale-Mac, rather than here where it belongs. Bill has responded with a fix by noting that the sax volume was at 98 and he was able to raise it to 127 in Score Manager but I can't seem to find how to do that. Any tips?
Thanks,
Sig

I'm having a similar issue. I want to start off something with a solo instrument playing very quietly. No matter the dynamic marking I give the solo instrument, it always comes in at full volume, and doesn't settle into pianissimo until the rest of the ensemble joins in. It's like a rolling normalize, or Auto Levels or something.

In answer to your "Score Manager" question, in my version, Score Manager is under the Window menu. The first four items across the top are "Name, M, S, Vol" for Name, Mute, Solo, Volume, respectively. Highlight the number under "Vol" and type in your new value.

@highnoteboy
Are you sure your dynamic is attached below the part you intend and not above the part below. I find dynamics (and smartshapes) sometimes attach to the wrong staff, particularly if the staves are close together.
