The guitar part and the right hand of the piano part move back and forth between slash notation, rhythmic notation, and normal notation. This is accomplished with the "staff tool." Each time a change in notation is called for, i am careful to specify "in score AND parts." The notation appears correctly in the score. However, in the LINKED guitar part, the slash notated bars show up as rests and the rhythmic notated bars show up as normal notation. HELP!! | Back to Top

After all work is done (or several times during the working process) select all your music, go to staff tool and select "apply selected staff style to score and parts" (since I am working on a german copy the correct term might sound a little different- it's the 4th one down in the 3rd set of options, or the 11th one down altogether )
After that you should be fine and the "forgotten" staff styles should be appearing in the parts.
If not, go with Zuill and post the file, but since it keeps happening so frequently to me (since ages) I doubt it.

In the English version, it's called: "use selected staff style to score and parts" To be less ambiguous, perhaps it SHOULD say: "use selected staff styleS to score and parts" (plural "STYLES," since there are several which alternate in the course of the chart. | Back to Top

So, I'm guessing there's something about how you got your result that we don't know. How exactly did you do it, step by step? There's a missing link somewhere and we might be able to find it.

Then i input the chord symbols (Cm7, AbMaj7, etc.) If a certain section is in rhythmic notation, i input the roots of the chords with their appropriate rhythms in "speedy entry." Then, i highlight that section with the staff tool and invoke STAFF / APPLY STAFF STYLE TO / SCORE AND PARTS and select "rhythm notation." It looks fine in the score. You can copy the entire guitar part to the treble hand of the piano part, and it is correctly formatted in the score. But in the LINKED parts, neither the guitar nor the piano is correctly formatted. Before writing you last night, i had reformatted the guitar part manually, but not the piano part. Just now, after using Claus's suggestion, the piano part came out correctly formatted. That may have happened BEFORE i sent you the score. If so, i apologize. Try changing the notation in a section of the score, and see if the change is now reflected on the linked part. | Back to Top

There is a bug when copying (a known issue) that copies only in the score and not in the part. However, that only happens when copying, and not when applying at first. Since you didn't say you had copied, initially, we could not assume that. I was suspecting that, but needed you to let us know.
Now, after copying in the score, there is a workaround to get it in the part. Right click the bar above the measure (the bar showing the staff style), when in the score, and select the option to show in score and part.
