Hello All,
The playback sound on one of my tracks has a come and go feel. Patchy, in and out. Can anyone help?
Also, does anyone else have the phenomenon where the sound volume dips dramatically when the track goes back for a repeat sometimes ?
This lasts a few bars and then goes back to normal.

Mnay Thanks
William

Hi William

When you say patch, are you saying that some instruments will just drop out?

If you're using Garritan (GIfF or GPO etc) this may be due to a large number of instruments in your score. If your score is using a large number of instruments, there are only a couple of options
1) Upgrade your computer with more memory (if you're running on XP or Vista, then go to a max of 6Gb)
2) If upgrading is not an option, or you already have 6Gb or more, then you might need to export the Audio in a couple of chunks. Say two files, each with around half the instruments playing. (Make sure that there is always at least one instrument playing at any given time in the exports.) Then mux the files together using something like like Audacity.

As to the volume at the repeat... Occasionally HP will get its knockers in a twist. The only thing to try is to place some additional dynamics around the area which is causing the problem. So place a dynamic at the end of the repeat (ie just before the repeat barline) and also one at where the music jumps to. This has been known to solve the issue. You can always hide the expressions so that they do not print out.

Cheers...

Daz. :o)
