I can go to Audio MIDI setup, and see mike input and built in output set to 48000. I can select 41000, quit, but when I start Finale2014d i get the error message that Finale needs 41000.
When I return to Audio MIDI setup, it has reverted to 48000.
How do I get it to stay at 41000?
Thx

When trying some Computer Audio stuff recently I read that a restart is needed when changing settings in Midi/Audio.
Give it a try.

I've seen this happen. If you have a device that was set at 48000 when Finale launched, this setting can get saved into Finale's preferences. Try closing Finale, verifying that all devices in your audio setup are at 41000 and then deleting the preference file (open Finder and use SHIFT+COMMAND+G to open "Go to folder" then type or copy and paste the following: ~/Library/preferences and find Finale 2014 Preferences).

If that doesn't work, you'll want to get in touch with Tech Support. They'll walk you through generating a Plogue log that should show where the problem is.

Thanks, Erin, worked like a charm!

I just experienced the same issue after updating to 2014d.

Turns out Finale selected the first audio interface in my system by alphabetic order, which happened to be my AXE-FX (which only runs at 48k). After switching to my usual interface, a Metric Halo ULN-8, Finale forced the ULN-8 to 48k upon launch, then displayed the usual sample rate warning message and refused to load the audio engine. Only after powering down the AXE-FX, trashing preferences, and making sure the ULN-8 was at 44.1 was I able to get Finale to launch without changing the sample rate and store the correct settings in preferences.

I started a case with MM support - curious why the Plogue engine would even write the 48k setting to preferences since Finale doesn't support it, and why Finale arbitrarily selected a different audio interface after updating...
