Got an email saying as of the new apple system per 20-09 Finale Notepad will not be working anymore on ipad etc.

This is terrible for my fellow singers. A lot of them having apple machines and using the program solely to practice the music with it at home for our choir rehersals.
As we have the full Finale program legally bought and i am putting in all the scores with that i don't have the problem as windows users don't have yet.
But how can we make this work because it can't be that i must tell them sorry no practicing anymore or don't update?
Also impossible to ask everyone personally or our choir to buy an upgraded version for > € 60 each since the never use it for composing or else and only for playback.

What is going to be done about that? Can't a free version or inexpensive version be made just for playback and preferrably with the scrollview possibility?

Interested in others opinions since i still think finale is great and don't want to switch to another program

Finale Notepad does not run on iPads or iPhones. It is only those people who are using Macs and are considering upgrading to Sierra who are affected.
There are some hints on possible workarounds here but for the moment, that is all that can be done.

However, for those who cannot upgrade to Songwriter or PrintMusic, there are a couple of options

Finale can export to MusicXML. There are some free music apps on the mac which do support playback. Just export your score to MusicXML and those people can import the music that way.

For those that have an iPad, iPhone or an Android device, there several free apps which also support MusicXML import and do offer (limited) playback
There is also Notion for mobile devices. While not free, it is inexpensive (US$ 8.00) Notion is very powerful for a mobile application.

One possible idea that might work:

You can still export to PDF and EPUB formats for straight up page-by-page distribution of scores or parts.

If you want them to be able to hear a performance while watching the score play use a screen capture utility to render
a mov video. Since it's just a scrolling score the video frame rate doesn't need to be very high, so with a little practice it should be possible to make fairly small video files that can be shared. Users will be able to stop/start/pause/fast forward/rewind/etc.

I use a combination of stream-cloner and Nero Video Editor/Recode for this purpose, but there are several screen capture applications out there.

its not for distribution of pdf although i use that to have a digital sheet version
we always buy legal copies for each member because that's how it must be done.

and sorry was my mistake i knew it wasn't working on ipad and iphone (unfortunately)

anyone knowing a good free or inexpensive app for ipad, which can handle xml than as in notepad so sheet visible an moving hairpin while playing
i will give notion a try, never heard of before.

and thanks credo for your suggestion, sounds interesting to give it a try maybe i will

I just hope there will be something like Finale Notepad on most or all platforms for free or a very small fee especially for the need i tried to describe
most of the users with us are no experienced computerusers and a lot can't even "read" music by their notes so for them this really would be a great help.
I noticed great improvements after we started with this.

it's not meant for mp3 or audio files, i know that can be done in a lot of ways
what we use/need is:
the sheetmusic shown and a hairpin moving during play of the music (and sing along) .
so actually follow the music note for note on the screen for homepractice.
and able choosing solo or 1,2,3, or all voices together and maybe attache a special sound to a voice
even better would be tot have scrollview
