Has anyone seen this error and found a "fix" for it. Tech Support couldn't help me, nor so far, the Windows Community forums. As my PC does have some peculiar additional problems too, troubleshooting their inter-relationship with Finale 2014.5 working is problematic. Finale 2012 however still runs fine. Presumably I have a "permissions" problem, yet I am running Windows as an Administrator. For utilities, I use VIPRE Antivirus Pro, REGUtilities, WiseFixer and CCleaner. I've uninstalled/re-installed Finale twice with the same results. Any suggestions would be very helpful.

I guess I would try disabling those utilities you mention one by one.

See if you can open the FinMIDI file and see what the sample rate is set to and what the Audio Device is.

Motet, one of the utilities [RegUtilites] may have caused the problem, but another one which I've since bought/run, TotalSystemProtection, although finding many more errors, did not change the Error from occurring.

Zuill, since the program won't start, that file doesn't exist yet.

You mentioned reinstalling, but did you re-download the installer? It could be that the first download was corrupted upon download.

I would still try turning those add-ons--including TotalSystemProtection--turning them off one by one temporarily.
