 |  Posted 7/15/2012 2:01 AM (GMT -6) |   |  | 		| I've tried the following on my Mac, with Finale 2010 and it works. The only thing you need to do is create a shortcut for the Finalescript, because you'll need to have your mouse pointer hovering over the bar you want to affect. 
 
 menu item "custom stem"
 click
 press control + "A" // This should select all the boxes in the bar/measure
 press return // This should open the Shape Selection dialogue box that allows you to pick your custom stem
 down arrow 12 //Use these commands to navigate to the stem you want
 right arrow 1 //Use these commands to navigate to the stem you want
 button "select"
 
 Once you've set up a shortcut key command, you just hover the mouse over the bar you want to affect, hit the shortcut, and wham... it should work.
 
 Adjust the numbers after the "down arrow" and "right arrow" commands to navigate to the custom stem that you want to use within the shape selection dialogue box.
